Dr. Jim Robertson, DDS
Dr. Jim Robertson ,DDS
Dr. Robertson is married and has 2 adult children. He originally grew up in the Preston area of Cambridge and has lived in Kitchener for over 30 years. Outside of the office, he enjoys skiing and cycling, gardening, playing the piano, as well as building and making things work.
He maintains professional memberships in the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Waterloo-Wellington Dental Society (serving on its executive and as its President in 1996), the Ontario Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Society of Periodontists and the Canadian Academy of Periodontology.

In 2003, Dr Chang embarked on a part-time residency training course with Dr George Zarb at the University of Toronto, on the topic of implantology. In 2015, Dr Chang pursued an MSc degree in Oral Implantology at one of the most prestigious universities in Germany, the JW Goethe University. Following his degree, his thesis on Implant Stability Quotient and Bone-to-Implant contact area analyses of immediately placed implants in Human Cadavers was selected for presentation at the Congress in Oral Implantology in Germany at the same university and ITI (International Team of Implantology, Switzerland) North America Congress in Chicago.
This inspired him to pursue full-time graduate study to specialise in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada in 2018. During his formal training at the university, he was awarded “Doctor of Dental Medicine Teaching Award’ in recognition of excellence in teaching for two consecutive years. Dr Chang’s theses on peri-implant disease (Scanning Electron Microscopy Analysis of Biofilm on Dental Implants Explanted Due to Peri-Implantitis) was selected for poster presentation at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Periodontology in November 2020 and again presented during Research Day at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada in 2021.
He is a fellow and diplomate with the international Congress of Oral Implantologists(I.C.O.I.).He is also a fellow with the Royal Colleges of Dentist of Canada in the specialty of Periodontics.
Dr Chang has taught and lectured at the “Live Implant Training Institute” in a number of global locations, educating general dentists and specialists from the USA and Canada on oral implantology. Dr. Chang had served as a dentist in the polyclinics at the Olympics and Paralympics in Vancouver in 2010 and at the Pan Am and Para Pan Am Games in Toronto in 2015.
